Where is Taos New Mexico? Taos NM is in Taos County, which is one of the original nine counties in the state of New Mexico. This mountain town is fairly far away from any major cities, and it is 69.8 miles from Taos NM to Santa Fe NM, and 132 miles from Taos to Albuquerque.

When living in Taos, you will never be too far away from the opportunity to explore nature. The Carson National Forest, The Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, and the Taos Mountains all offer recreational activities such as hiking, skiing, horseback riding, golfing, mountain biking, and more.
